An application for tourist accommodation was granted Planning Consent at a specially convened Council Assessment Panel (CAP) held on Wednesday evening 30 July 2025. Sonia Gallarello, Senior Town Planner from Flex Planning attended the CAP to respond to any community concerns on behalf of our client.
Located on the main road in the township of Oakbank, the 28 room facility will provide much needed tourist accommodation for the Adelaide Hills.
Responding to community feedback, specific design considerations included the scale, and the inclusion of architectural features referencing the local context. Other considerations included the addition of privacy screens, noise mitigation measures, and improved traffic and access considerations.
We are pleased to have achieved a good outcome for our client that will regenerate the site and inject a flow of retail and hospitality opportunity into the community.
