After losing their 1920’s cottage in the Cudlee Creek fires in 2019, our clients resolved to build a fire resistant, thermally efficient home. This design incorporates fire resistant features including metal cladding and paving that replaces a wooden deck. Thermally efficient design features include a rammed earth spine wall, reverse brick veneer construction with internal masonry dividing walls and a northerly aspect.
Planning considerations included CFS requirements, wastewater and stormwater.
